Acts 2:46 says the early believers lived daily with “gladness and simplicity of heart,” praising God and enjoying favor with all people.
This phrase struck me: a truly Christian heart is simple, sincere, and single-minded, where spirit and soul are aligned. Before following Jesus, my soul sought the world, but now my spirit—filled with God’s Spirit—guides my heart, producing warmth, clarity, and purpose.
Simplicity of heart isn’t just a feeling—it’s a way of living:
Assess your priorities—what’s truly God’s purpose for you?
Align your daily life with Him—let your actions reflect your heart.
Track your growth—are spirit, soul, and body moving together for His glory?
As Richard of Chichester prayed:
“May I know Him more clearly, love Him more dearly, follow Him more nearly, day by day.”
When your spirit, soul, and body align, you walk in the power and joy of a simple heart, fully devoted to God.
