Every one of us carries a debt that we could never repay through our own efforts. Sin separates us from God and leaves us unable to make ourselves right before Him. But in His great love and mercy, Jesus took our place. At the cross, He bore the full weight of our sin, paying the price we deserved to pay.
His declaration, “It is finished,” was not a cry of defeat but a triumphant announcement that the debt had been settled once and for all. Because of His sacrifice, those who put their trust in Him are no longer condemned but are forgiven, set free, and invited into new life. We no longer live under the burden of guilt and shame but in the freedom and victory that Christ has secured for us.
Reflection Question:
Are you still carrying guilt and striving to earn God’s acceptance, or have you fully embraced the freedom that comes from knowing Jesus has already paid your debt in full?
