Monday 22nd – Great Expectations.
Great Expectations?
A thought-provoking reflection from John Partis
What are you expecting from life? More importantly… what are you expecting from God?
We all carry expectations—some shaped by hope, others by disappointment, experience, or unanswered prayers. But are our expectations rooted in changing circumstances, or in the unchanging promises of our faithful Heavenly Father?
In this week’s reflection, we’re invited to consider the difference between human optimism and the deep, confident hope found in Christ. It’s an encouragement to lift our eyes beyond what we can see and embrace a way of living marked by joyful anticipation, steadfast faith, and an eternal perspective.
Without giving too much away, this reflection offers a gentle challenge to rethink what it means to truly look forward with confidence and to recognise that God’s plans are always greater than our own.
Join us this week on Bearing Kingdom Fruit as we continue growing together in faith and discovering the richness of walking with God in hope-filled anticipation.
Friday 26th – Who Should We Pray?
Our Sermon on the Mount devotional journey continues with Part 10: How Should We Pray?, written by Jill Partis.
For many of us, prayer can become something deeply familiar—words we know well, routines we repeat, moments we fit into busy days.
But what if Jesus intended something far deeper?
In this next devotional, we pause at one of the most well-known teachings in Scripture—yet perhaps one of the most easily rushed past.
Jesus’ words here are not simply about what to say, but about relationship, dependence, surrender, and learning to draw near to the heart of the Father.
This reflection gently invites us to look again at prayer—not as a religious duty or a list of requests, but as something far more intimate, life-giving, and transformative.
What does it really mean to come before God as children before a loving Father?
What might change if prayer became less about routine… and more about communion?
A thoughtful and encouraging reflection as we continue walking through the beautiful teaching of Jesus.
