The Blessing of Depending on God

The world often tells us that strength means being independent, having all the answers and being able to handle life on our own. But God’s Kingdom works differently.

Jesus calls those who are “poor in spirit” blessed—not because they lack value or ability, but because they recognise their need for God. They don’t insist on doing everything in their own strength. Instead, they learn to surrender, trust and depend upon Him.

There is freedom in recognising that we don’t have to carry everything ourselves. We don’t have to manufacture our own future, prove our worth or have every answer. God invites us to bring our weakness, uncertainty and need into His presence.

True spiritual strength begins when we stop pretending that we are self-sufficient and acknowledge that God is our source.

When we surrender control, we make room for Him to lead. When we stop relying solely on ourselves, we discover the security of relying on One who is faithful.

Blessed Are They…

Where am I currently relying on my own strength instead of surrendering that situation to God?

 Prayer

Father God, thank You that I don’t have to carry everything in my own strength. Forgive me for the times I have relied on myself instead of trusting You. Teach me to surrender my plans, fears and circumstances into Your hands. Help me to depend on You more deeply and to trust that Your strength is sufficient for everything I face. Amen.
