Where Are Your Eyes Fixed?
Worry has a way of making our problems look bigger than our God. We look around at everything that could go wrong, everything we don’t have and everything we cannot control, and before long our minds are consumed by “what if?”
But what if we changed where we looked?
When our eyes remain fixed on circumstances, fear can quickly take over. When we deliberately turn our attention towards our Heavenly Father, our perspective begins to change. The problems may still be there, but we are no longer facing them alone.
God knows what we need. He sees what we cannot see. He cares about the things that concern us, and He invites us to place our burdens into His hands.
The birds don’t spend their days wondering whether they will be fed. The flowers don’t worry about whether they will be clothed in beauty. How much more can we trust the Father who created us and calls us His own?
We don’t need to understand everything God is doing before we trust Him.
Sometimes faith simply means lifting our eyes from the problem and looking towards the One who holds us.

Reflection Question:
What situation am I currently looking at more than I am looking to God?
Prayer:
Father, forgive me for the times I have allowed my circumstances to become bigger in my mind than You are. Help me to lift my eyes from what I cannot control and look towards You. Remind me that You are a loving Father who knows what I need and cares deeply for me. Teach me to trust You, even when I cannot see what lies ahead. Amen.
