Paul wrote to the believers in Colossae from a place of restriction, under house arrest in Rome. Though confined, his heart was free, full of gratitude, devotion, and love for God and for the Church. In Colossians 3:17, he reminds us that following Jesus is not about rule-keeping, but about choosing daily to live, speak, and act for God’s glory. Even in limitation, Paul’s life points us to wholehearted obedience, thanksgiving, and a Christ-centred way of living.
