“Come and Stay!” – Part 2
A story written by John Partis

Fifteen years is a long time.

A long time for memories to linger, wounds to remain and questions to go unanswered. But now Henry is in Falmouth, and the moment he has travelled all this way for is finally drawing near.

After everything that happened on his journey, there is one thing left to do—face the past and discover whether there can really be a future.

But how do you begin again after so many years apart? What do you say when there is so much that has never been said? And can a relationship marked by distance and regret ever become something new?

What unfolds will take Henry somewhere he hadn’t expected—not only into the pain of what has been lost, but towards the possibility of restoration, forgiveness and hope.

And as the day progresses, another story quietly begins to emerge… one that could prove even more significant than Henry first realises.

Coming this week, discover the conclusion of “Come and Stay!”

Sometimes God doesn’t simply restore what was broken.
Sometimes He begins something entirely new.

Friday 16th – Busy Martha

What if being busy doing good things could actually cause us to miss what matters most?

This week, we continue the Conversations with Jesus series with “Busy Martha,” the 10th devotional written by Jill Partis.

Martha had opened her home to Jesus. She was serving, preparing and trying to make everything just right. On the surface, she was doing exactly what you might expect from someone who loved and honoured her guest.

But somewhere between the serving and the stress, something shifted.

Her story invites us to look honestly at our own lives. Are we so busy doing things for Jesus that we have forgotten simply to be with Him? Could some of the things filling our calendars—even good and worthwhile things—be distracting us from His presence?

This devotional explores the difference between being busy and being fruitful, between serving from love and serving from pressure, and the importance of learning to recognise what Jesus is actually asking of us.

Perhaps the question isn’t “How much am I doing?” but “Am I making room for the One I am doing it all for?”

Busy Martha — coming this week on Bearing Kingdom Fruit.
