Spiritual circumcision speaks of a decisive change — a separation from the old life and entrance into the new. In Christ, a profound transformation has taken place. The old life, marked by sin, self-reliance, and separation from God, has been left behind. Through His saving work, we have been given a new identity—not defined by our past mistakes, failures, wounds, or labels, but by who we are in Him. We are now called to live as people of the Spirit, allowing God’s truth to shape our thoughts, attitudes, and actions.
This new life is more than a change in behaviour; it is a change of heart. As we embrace our identity as sons and daughters of God, we learn to walk in freedom, purpose, and obedience. Each day is an invitation to leave behind the old patterns of the flesh and step into the abundant life Christ has prepared for us. The more we surrender to the Holy Spirit, the more our lives reflect the character and nature of Jesus.

What would change in my daily life if I truly believed that my identity is rooted in Christ rather than in my past, my failures, or the opinions of others?
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the new life You have given me through Jesus Christ. Thank You that I am no longer defined by my past mistakes, failures, fears, or shortcomings, but by Your grace and love. Help me to see myself through Your eyes and to embrace the identity You have given me as Your child.
Lord, where I still cling to old ways of thinking or living, gently transform my heart. Teach me to walk in the freedom, purpose, and hope that belong to those who are in Christ. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit and guide my thoughts, words, and actions so that they reflect Your character.
When I am tempted to return to old patterns, remind me of who I am in You. Strengthen me to choose obedience, faith, and trust. May my life increasingly reflect the new creation You have made me to be, bringing glory to Your name and pointing others to Your goodness.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
